Why art thou devoted to pleasurable sense-objects, O Mind?
Nothing, nobody abides long in the world.
Some come, some go all the time.
The body and possessions are on the move.
Are they worthy of attachment ?
All that is perceptible is perishable
and comparable to the shadow of a cloud.
Give up egoity and seek refuge in the company of the good.
Says servant Nanak: “There is no rest, even for a moment,
without devotion to Govinda”.
